My Battles Continue with the upcoming release of China Girl, a Crime/SciFi novel scheduled for release in May/June. Nothing difficult, just finding the time.
I’m looking for Beta Readers to test drive the read. If you’re interested, just drop me a line.
Last month I started a new series called The Silver Ships. There is a total of 10 audio books.
Most people know my preference is for audio books when I have a lot of driving to do. So far I’m seven into the series and have not been too impressed. People are enthused about this series, I wonder why? The main character is one of those who can never lose or do wrong. Raised from a lonely asteroid harvester to the president of a planet. He’s smart, strong, very articulate, and gets the girl. I give it a 2 out of 10, but because I have the novels and should read them.
Through one of my writer sites I had the opportunity to read a literary fiction piece called Cofee, Tea & Khat. The author created a good story, but the execution is left needing. Hopefully the author listens to the critiques given by the group.
I’ve started listening to a POD case and wonder if it’s something to do with a few of my fellow author friends. Something to think about. Maybe I’ll bring that us with them.
Things are a little better with health. The injuries sustained back in 2015 are down to twinges and strength issues. It is my hope the pain will continued to decrease. For now, it is just something I have to live with.
China Girl has two critiques on it and both have thought the work clean and well plotted. It is now in line for another critique at which point I’ll decide what stage it is at. The artwork will go into a final tweak. I will need a blurb for the work, which means you’ll probably hear about it next month.
I have eyes on finishing the first book of Blood Cells. It will be similar in construction to China Girl, but not looking at Sci Fi, rather horror and fantasy. Will need to see what the future holds on that one.
